Meet Bosley, a red, 8 to 9 year old cocker boy. He ended up in a NC shelter, after his owners badly neglected his medical needs and was picked up by animal control. He had suffered so much human neglect, he was a very angry cocker boy and no one could deal with him, so he almost died. CCR was alerted and went to see if he deserved a 2nd chance. We quickly learned that he was difficult, very angry and that he could not be helped. A day later, CCR decided to go back for a second look, hoping that maybe somehow rescue could give him a chance at a better life. At this visit, he was not so difficult and we brought him to rescue.
He came to CCR with a grade 4 heart murmur that is caused by heartworms. We got his treatment done, his recovery went well and he was neutered. When he first arrived, he needed help fitting in with the other dogs, so we worked with him on his behavior issues and he turned a huge mile stone. He learned to like love and affection and is now able to receive it nicely most of the time. His ideal home must be an adult only home with a good stern alpha role model man and women. He cannot be placed into a home with children of any age due to his behavior actions at times. He needs to be the only dog in the home, but does ok with other dogs, so he can be with an easy going dog social pal who will not challenge him. We had a heart echo done and it showed that there has not been a big change, so he will remain on the same heart medicine dosage daily. He is doing well and would love to have his 2nd chance to have a loving home for the years that he has left. Please open your heart to give him a home of his own and a great rest of his life for however long he has left to live........He would love to spend some quality time with you! He is a very sweet boy and deserves a loving home environment.
If you are unable to adopt Bosley, please send in a donation to help with his care. Thank you for your kindness!
