Please donate today: This sweet cocker boy has a lot of vet needs that must now be addressed. We need to raise $1000 to $1500 to pay his vet costs. He needs a dental, the pellet needs to be removed, pins to repair his toes if the orthopedic vet recommends it to help him, ear issues and whatever they decide to do with his heal hawk, if anything can be done. He is sweet as sweet can be, child friendly (kids 8 and over), dog friendly and decently house trained.
Meet Blazer, a neutered black and tan, 4 year old cocker boy who is decently house trained. He was listed on a yard sale facebook post to find a home. CCR was alerted and we worked on getting him here to rescue. He lived with someone who couldn't keep him, so they gave him away to the daughter of this lady who then posted that he needed a home. The lady and her daughter already had another dog and didn't really want two dogs. CCR made phone contact and the lady finally agreed to let CCR take him into rescue, as.his vet care had been neglected for quite awhile.
He is heartworm negative and a nice, easy going cocker boy with a wonderful, outgoing personality. After he gets his vet needs taken care of, he will be a wonderful addition for someone to adopt and love. He is child friendly and will do well with children 8 years and older. On evaluation, the vet learned that he came here anemic, has dry eye and ear infections, so these issues are being addressed. He came to us with some skin and coat issues too, but our vet says this is due to flea allergies. It does not seem to be food related. We also found out that he has an injured leg that was never taken care of when he somehow got shot awhile back with a pellet gun (the pellet is still inside), he has a broken heal hawk and a luxated patella. He needs a dental so the pellet will be removed while he is under sedation. His leg will never be like it should, due to neglected vet care awhile ago. On an acupuncture visit, we learned that he is squeamish when his feet are touched. X-rays showed that he has broken toe bones in both feet. Signs indicate that someone long ago, stomped on his rear feet breaking the bones or somehow hit his toes with something hard to be cruel, with nothing was ever done about fixing it. His ears had nasty, very dirty ear infections. We have found this cocker boy to be a real sweetheart with a heart of gold despite the neglected vet issues. Someone in his past must have loved him and treated him well in his early years as he is just a great guy with a sparkling personality and a happy, happy doggie. We hope to find him the perfect home with someone who will love him, take care of him as needed and love him as a wonderful companion . After we get him well, please give him the 2nd chance that he deserves to have a good home and a great rest of his life! Please donate today to help with his vet care. We appreciate your kindness with any amount that you can give, it's tax deductible, and please put his name on it so that we will know it is for Blazer. Mail to: CCR, P.O.
