This Cocker boy needs a home with children 12 years and older or an adult home. Fenced yard preferred. He will be a great companion for you to love.
Meet Watson, a 10 year old red n white cocker spaniel boy. He was found by a Good Samaritan on a Friday morning, alone and soaking wet after NC was hit overnight by a massive rain storm. He does have a micro-chip but his owner could not be located. This person did everything possible to find the owner. He couldn't keep him, so we took him into rescue and continued to follow up on his micro-chip information. We got lucky and finally located the owner. She had moved and was living in her place of business. He had no yard and didn't get much attention. After talking to us, she surrendered him so that he can find a new home and have a better life in a calm, loving home environment.
He is a healthy boy and neutered. He is now current on vet care, his ear infection was treated and he has had a dental. He was a very loved, pampered dog until his owner just got to busy with work. Our rescue vet found that he does have some hearing loss that can be from frequent ear infections or just happens as a dog ages. He is a very happy boy who would enjoy spending quality time cuddling with you on the couch and sleeping with you at night. Because he is partially deaf, he will only be placed into a home with children 12 and older who will not startle him or accidentally let him out. He is decently house trained and would enjoy having a fenced yard to spend short times outside. If not, you will always need to keep him on a leash whenever he goes outside. This said, being left off leash is how he got lost, ended up alone and out in the elements soaking wet and eventually ended up here. He would love a new home with another laid back cocker who would enjoy a companion to hang out with during the day. At night, they could spend quality time sleeping with you, their loving human owner. This cocker boy is sweet, loving and will be a wonderful companion for someone to adopt and love.
His adoption fee is $300, which helps us to pay for all of his vet care needs done here at our rescue. Luckily he is a healthy older senior who will make someone very happy to adopt him. Please give him a 2nd chance to have a great home.
