Meet Nugget, a reddish buff 8 year old spayed cocker girl. She is an owner surrender to this NC rescue. She lived in Florida with her owners until they could no longer care for her due to health issues. Their daughter lives here in NC, said she would take care of her and drove to Florida to get her. Nugget stayed with her for awhile but she has two dogs of her own and decided it might be better to find her a new home where she can get more attention, love and necessary vet care.
We made the arrangements to pick her up and brought her to our rescue vet. She is now up to date on vaccinations and she tested as heartworm negative. She does have some skin and coat issues plus ear infections, so we have put her on a special food diet to see if this will help to make her feel better. She is a real sweet girl and when she gets well and can find her new home she would love to have attention, lots of love and spend quality time with you. She is dog social and people friendly. Her owner said that she is house trained but here at the rescue she has had a few accidents in her crate and in the house. We think she just needs adjustment time as this is a whole different environment being with so many dogs. And/or maybe she just needs more time to be left outside to do her business. This said, she should probably be let out every 3 to 4 hours. Your donation today will help with her dental care and then we will need to follow up with and address her ear, skin and coat issues before she can be adopted out. Please donate to her care today to help her feel better real soon.
Any amount is appreciated and thank you for caring. Please send donations to: CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 27127 or you
can donate using PayPal.
