Meet Luna, an 8 to 10 year old merle parti cocker spaniel girl. She was found by a family in August of 2017 just sitting in the middle of a street in a NC residential area, dazed and confused. They saw that she was blind in one eye and her other eye looked cloudy too. Both of her ears needed treatment. When they couldn't locate an owner, they kept her for awhile and then decided they just had to many dogs. They contacted this rescue to give her a 2nd chance to be loved and get the necessary vet care needed until she can find a new forever home.
She is heartworm negative, is now spayed and she has had a dental. Our rescue vet evaluated her eyes and told us that she would need to be taken to a vet specialist to have a consult for a detached retina in both eyes, one worse than the other. We also learned that she has a low grade heart murmur. We have taken her to the vet specialist and they said that she has one eye that will probably eventually need to be taken out due to the pressure being so low as it can possibly turn into glaucoma, while her other eye is completely blind. She is a sweet, loving girl who deserves to live a good life. She really wants a home and someone to love her. Yes she is older and she does have these eye issues but please consider adopting her and just take care of her needs as necessary. She may be an older dog but she has lots of love to give and she does quite well considering she can't see and her hearing is not the best either.
