This cocker boy is a Special Needs dog who deserves a good life in a loving home environment. He is in a great foster home in Virginia where he is being loved and cared for until he can find a home of his own.
Meet Lucky, his dream come true is to find a loving home of his own. He is a reddish blonde 10 1/2 year old cocker boy. He was rescued out of a NC shelter by a caring, good - hearted person who adopted him so that he would not be alone and overlooked for adoption because he is older. A few weeks went by and this person got busy with other things so he wasn't spending time with him or giving him proper care. He finally took him to a local vet where we get our rescue dogs vet care done. After some discussion, we agreed to take him into our care to find him a home.
At his vet evaluation, we learned that his ears had been neglected for quite some time. He is deaf due to infected ears left untreated over many years of someone not caring for them properly. He has also suffered some injury to his back which has caused him to have IVD - Disc disease that makes it so that his rear legs take a bit of time to get moving and then he does ok....his foster mom says he does this cute shuffle thing to get going. He is heartworm negative, neutered and had a much needed dental done at the rescue to sew up a hole in his jaw. He also lost 10 teeth. His foster mom has been good to him and he has now gained some much needed weight. He would love to find a home of his own with someone who can give him constant attention and love so that he doesn't have to share with more than one other dog. He is a real sweet guy, easy going, loves to snuggle on the couch and gets along with everyone. He wants to be with his human companion so much, he will bark when you leave him alone in the house for long time periods. He doesn't hear real well and his eyesight isn't the best, but he does get around ok and he is just a happy guy who wants to be petted and loved. He is not on any medicines or special foods right now, his foster mom will be happy to tell you what he does like to eat. Please don't overlook this sweet cocker boy just because he is older and has some health issues that could have been prevented. He will be a wonderful companion to spend quality time with and cuddle with on the sofa while watching TV. He will do best with someone who is home a lot and will not leave him for long time periods. Please make his dreams come true to be loved and taken care of as he gets older. You must be able to afford his care as it becomes needed.
His adoption fee is $100.
