ADOPTED: I got a great new forever home.
No Phone Calls: Please fill out an application to be approved. This sweet girl is dog and cat social, child friendly and will do best in a calm home environment.
Meet Josie, a red n white, small, petite, 7 year old cocker girl. She is an owner surrender to rescue. She started having skin and coat issues that turned into an infection and became costly to maintain monthly to keep her comfortable. The family adopted her at 3 years old from a lady who couldn't keep her. When they first got her home, she did well with the wife and two young children but was scared, timid and very uncomfortable with the husband. This said, they think that she had been badly abused by a man. It took time, love and patience for her to let the husband handle and interact with her. The children she lived with were 5 and 7. The other family dog was a mixed breed female younger than her and they had a cat. She was treated well, a loved companion and had a good life with this family.
She is spayed, heartworm negative and is now micro-chipped. On her initial vet visit, we learned that her itchy skin, coat and ear issues needed to be addressed with meds and change of diet. The vet put her on Appoquil and a specific food diet to see if it would help. Within a few days, she was already feeling better and less itchy. Being on a controlled diet for her skin issues will always be a priority and the new owner will need to be diligent about keeping her on it to help this sweet girl feel good and be her best. She is a sweet, calm, very laid back cocker girl and seems to be only somewhat house trained. She is dog and cat social and child friendly. She is ok being crated if you do not leave her alone for long time periods. She will do best being let outside every 3 to 4 hours. She would love to be your new best friend, a loved indoor companion and a walking partner to get her exercise.
Her adoption fee is: $350.
