This cocker boy is a sweet, shy, very nice dog. He will do best with a dog social pal who can help him to learn how to be a great companion.
Meet Jon Jon, a 15 month old neutered buff cocker boy. He is an owner surrender from a nice lady who has health issues and couldn't keep him. He was born in May of 2016 in Oklahoma. He belonged to a breeder. He and his sister were 4 months old and being shown for adoption. Their new owner drove to Oklahoma from NC to adopt them. They were both scared of everything when she took them home due to lack of socialization growing up. The sister was re-homed to a nice couple who already have a boy cocker that she can learn from. She is doing well. The owner was very attached to him. He was her sweet baby boy. He would hide behind her or under a chair if people came to visit or something frightened him like a loud noise. It was a sad day for both of them when she surrendered him over to the CCR Volunteer.
He is heartworm negative, neutered, micro-chipped and a healthy boy. He is shy, friendly and scared of lots of things. He does ok but it takes time for him to warm up to new people. Different situations and loud noises are hard for him to handle. We are working with him on socialization skills to get him more comfortable with things. He is slowly making progress and starting to come out of his shell a little each day. He will need an owner who is willing to go slow with him, teach him things and help him to be a great companion. He will do best with a dog social pal that he can hang out with, learn from and they can be your wonderful indoor companions. Please give this sweet boy the loving home that he deserves. He will need your patience, lots of love and help with leash walking. He will do best with someone who works from home and will not leave him alone for long hours.
His adoption fee is: $400.
