Donations Needed for Heartworm Treatment: Please help us to raise the $554 dollars for a three dose treatment to get Cole well. He is a super nice cocker boy. Please send your donations to: CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081, and let us know that it is for his care.

Meet Cole. a 4 year old black medium sized cocker spaniel boy. He was found one night by a Good Samaritan who was driving the streets of NC on a hot and humid July evening. She saw that he was alone and wandering like he had been out for awhile. His fur was quite dirty and matted, so she took him home and cleaned him up. She had dogs of her own and took him to her vet to see if he was micro-chipped. Turns out, he is but the owners contact information was not current, like they moved, didn't care about him and just left him behind. She had 3 dogs and couldn't keep him so she contacted this rescue.

At his initial vet appointment we found that he was thin and needed to gain some weight. A good food diet has helped. Luckily his ears looked good. We did find that he had some skin and coat issues after his grooming appointment that are due to flea dermatitis and treatable. It seems he must have been kept outside a lot and his owner did not keep him on any kind of heartworm prevention. His blood work showed that he is a strong heartworm positive. He will need a three dose treatment done before he can be adopted out. He is a nice, friendly guy. The lady who stopped to helped him kept him for 4 days while she was trying to find his owner. He did well with her dogs and she had older children who were nice to him and gave him attention. After treatment is done and recovery time, he will be a wonderful companion for someone to adopt, love and spend quality time with. He has a great personality and will enjoy being an indoor dog and your best friend. He can be a bit vocal at times, so apartment and condo living is not recommended. Please donate today to help us raise the $554 dollars for his heartworm treatment. We appreciate your kindness to help him get well.

His adoption fee is: $350. He will be ready for a home after heartworm treatment is done and recovery time afterwards.
