She is a dominant dog and will do best with a dog social pal who is sweet, easy going and will not try to challenge her or she can be the only dog in your home.
Meet Annika., a black n tan female cocker spaniel about 3 to 5 years old with just a hint of mix.. She was picked up as a stray by NC Animal Control. Her owners were located because she is micro-chipped. Sadly, they surrendered her to the shelter saying they didn't want her anymore. She came to us because she was scared, barking and would shy away from humans.
She is heartworm negative, a healthy girl and dog social. She is now spayed, She has had a dental and is now updated on vet needs. She can be a bit snappy when you first meet her, indicating that the owner did not treat her very well in a home environment. She doesn't seem to want to bite you, she just kind of sticks out her foot as a peace offering. With us, she has been treated well, so she has been a pretty good girl. She is an energetic, active girl but is not a high strung dog. She likes love and attention after she gets to know you and she rides pretty well in a car. She is a dominant female and will do best in a home with a dog social pal who is easy going and will not challenge her, but rather can be her pal. She deserves a 2nd chance to find a forever home with an owner who will work with her, treat her well and not punish her unnecessarily. She would love to be your indoor doggy, sweet baby girl and spend quality time with you. Maybe she can be your walking partner so that both of you will get some exercise. A fenced yard is preferred.
Her adoption fee is: $350.
